The year 2009 - 2010 in reflection. Here is a list of our activities and accomplishments for the year.
A storage locker 7' x 15' was rented. The Quint Service Clubs meeting in 2010 was Rotary's turn to organize. $1000.00 in support of the request from Wendy Webster of Street Yoga -Canada Rotary Beach is still being discussed. Skateboard Park made progress. $1000 for upcoming project in Nepal Ribfest made $9000. for each of Rotary and Lions Clubs $250.00 was spent for promoting Doors Open Gananoque Thousand Islands Minor Football League asked us to donate $5000. to put a Rotary sign on the High School scoreboard was not approved Jammin' in Gananoque was supported with $500 Four members attended the Membership and Foundation Seminar. $600 was given for Buy A Net to supply mosquito nets for an African village. Bequest committee approved $50k to waterfront project 1000.00 was paid to the Rotary Foundation. $500 went to the Salvation Army for Christmas meals for local families Pillars of Rotary & PH were presented to Joe Dorrington, Ron & Dawn Casselman $1000 to Curling Club for electrical upgrades VEP tee-shirts were purchased. ALMOST HOME of Kingston was supported with a donation of $500 Shelterbox was supported for a total at this time, of $5000. Canadian Rotary Centennial School project in Jalalabad, Afghanistan $250. Power Point projector was acquired. PR--thanks Joanne, people are now calling Doug G Mr. Rotary. All Candidates meeting for by-election excellently organized by Ron Casselman. A donation to the Gananoque Youth Services for $2000. A donation to Dreams in Motion for continued support of their program of performance and fine arts was approved for $1000. Kingston Regional Spelling Bee Committee was sent $200. We gave the Gananoque Canoe Club $4500. to fund their proposed Long Term Athletic Development Plan. Merrywood Camp (an Easter Seals project). We sent them $2000.00. We funded a brochure for the Ministerial Association listing church services in town. |
